I am trying to start. Its hard getting into position, like football in defense or offense mode; the runners block; the boxer in the corner waiting for the bell to ring. When you are starting something new there is always that “ready, set, go!”, the “count down”, always the “Monday, I’m going to start my new journey”. Then a week later you are in front of the TV eating chips, on social media, or just wasting time. Stopping and starting, that high when you start something new and that depression when you fail.
I wanted to find a way to fix myself. Why do I start something then stop, or make promises to myself and break them. I lie to myself.
One problem is we are use to immediate gratification and reward. There is no hard work for the information or pleasure we want. Want to find something out click a few keys, and the info is there. Ahhh rewarded. Want food? Click, its at your door. Too fat? Make an appointment and BOOM your stomach is the size of a walnut and you are losing weight at an amazing rate. There is no effort involved in what we do. So when a situation comes up where hard work, sweat and determination is needed we fail. We have forgotten the steps needed to achieve real rewards and true gratification.
Looking for the answers I found a YouTube channel called “Improvement Pill”. He has FREE video courses explaining why we start and stop things, how the brain works, and other GET YOUR LIFE TOGETHER videos. Check it out. Leave a comment "I sent you"
